Program
The webinar opens with a conversation led by leaders from NaVOBA and NVSBC about the veteran-owned businesses they serve, the importance of succession planning, and the need to develop qualified veteran buyers who can carry those businesses forward.
From there, the program introduces participants to five dimensions of acquisition readiness:
- Prepare Yourself — establish the personal, family, and financial foundation required for ownership
- Define the Mission — identify the acquisition pathway, business characteristics, and ownership objectives that fit the buyer
- Search with Discipline — develop a focused search strategy and understand how acquisition opportunities are sourced and pursued
- Evaluate the Deal — understand the financial, legal, operational, and transaction risks involved in acquiring a business
- Finance the Acquisition — understand the capital sources, financing structures, and financial obligations of an acquisition
The program combines practical instruction, veteran operator experience, and direct access to trusted practitioners across the acquisition ecosystem. The webinar closes by introducing participants to the Owners In Honor Buyers Basecamp and the organization’s network of acquisition, lending, diligence, and professional-service partners.
